Critical pitting temperature (CPT) of duplex stainless steel (DSS) 2205 was measured by potentiostatic method, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) and electrochemical noise (EN) measurements, respectively, and the different measurements were compared. The results showed that data measured by potentiostatic method had small fluctuation and were undisturbed. And EIS method can analyze the mechanisms of pitting process in some degree. Furthermore, for EN method, the data of current and potential can be monitored and the surface of samples are nondestructive.
